Li Bai is a bit of a hero of mine as he was to my teacher. There are techniques in both sword and sabre that refer to his embracing the moon.

So far as we know, he wasn't any great shakes with a sword, but he certainly knew a thing or two about the moon. It's cool that he's commemorated in these random fields.

He is held in high regard as a swordsman in some martial arts schools.

Excellent, really well done!

Because this is a war poem i have to presume its about current events somehow. Since its the weekend i can read it carefully. I know i translated the poem about the martial expedition to mongolia and also the war mourning poetry of the drunks encamped about to be slaughtered at war.

Martial poetry is rarely translated because war sucks and why celebrate the other thugs victory seeing as he laid your own forces low? Moreover it is indeed sometimes used for signalling. Most people would rather go bootless with a warm body rather than trod shod like war horses through forests of dead forces. And who can blame them?

Powers balance, broken, empires amarch unspoken secrets of state whose will will break? a bridge a battle men slaughtered like cattle. to calm their hearts a speech of art. who else here heard of yenan so dear?

Poetry is for sissies i swear. I'm getting hungry. I think I'm gonna go eat another Russian plane. Jokes a side great poetry!!!
