It relates to King George IV of the United Kingdom. He was indeed overweight and had a liking for the ladies (except for his wife that is with whom he had an ongoing spat and tried many times to divorce.)

OK, that's good!

I mean, it's not exactly great that we collectively, as a nation, decided that sexual incontinence and probably class-mediated sexual assault were great topics for a nursery rhyme... But good that the pudding and pie does have the meaning I thought.

Agreed. Although I guess it began with street doggerel and wandered into nursery rhymes when the meaning was lost. But there again they showed Punch and Judy to their children and that was a paragon of misogyny and violence. It really is a strange nation.
